Fellow Velos: Matt Gregory went down tonight heading through turn 3 and almost under an approaching car. Matt’s quick reflexes and good bike handling skills prevented a calamity. With a big patch of road rash on his right side, he gets back on his bike and says, “I’m OK… Let’s go” and off we went for our final laps. What a stud!
THE WEEDS in the empty lots have grown up to 4 feet tall or more, which block the view of oncoming traffic through the corners. There were only four of us in this group and none of us saw the car coming until we were beginning our turn. We need corn chopper, a harvester or a field mower to take down those weeds! Mark Holmes

Way to COWBOY-UP Matt!!!! I’m glad your OK!!! Hell——-all you “riders in the night” are animals anyway! It’s dark, high weeds, that’s two strikes right there. I really look forward to some daylight.
Hey Markus H., our Wednesday night course is not only a jungle but it’s also becoming a LANDFILL. I was walking the dogs out there the other day and saw some chicken shit bastard throwing a bunch of car tires out of his minivan into the weeds. I was to far away to get his license number.

Gerry: No bike lights needed until after 6:00… Plus the three street lights that were out have now been fixed. Anyway, one of the club members notified the City of Turlock of the weed growth and the City in turn has given the property owner an abatement notice. -MarkH
