anyone going out today?
Today August 10th, marks two years since the loss of Jim McCuskey on Diablo Grande Parkway, I will be riding to the spot Sunday Aug. 15th to place a flower and a prayer. If you would like to join in we will then ride to the Junction up Del Puerto Canyon. Start time 0700 hrs; place I5 at Patterson, parking Carol’s Jr. or Star Bucks. This is a 52 mile ride so plan accordingly, bring a flower and join me in the 2nd Annual Jim McCuskey Memorial Ride. Bob N
For those of you planning to ride this Wednesday from Cycle Masters in Turlock, we will need to do the “short course” because it’s now pretty dark by 8:00. Main route is out through Denair to Gratton, Keyes, Montpelier, Cogswell, Hall, Lake, Hawkins and regroup. Then in on Keyes. “B” group goes up Gratton to Whitmore and over to Montpelier, which saves a few miles and puts that group ahead of the A group on the course. See you there- Mark Holmes

Remember the long weekend rides headed to who knows where with Sanford? The 65 mile rides turned 80? The backroads with history that no one could duplicate? Always strong off the front, always something to say, always another great ride… that was Sanford. I found his twin at the cycling club we joined in Walnut Creek. Stong off the front, our 63miles of hills turned into 70 miles of Livermore rollers, backroad, trails, cut-off, always trying to stay off the heavy traffic roads, history of old Diablo homes, loves to talk about riding…. it is just too wierd I had to share. Oh…. same basic appearance and age too! Trippy….
Gerry wants to ride from his house starting at 0630 Saturday 8/14. Marc, John and anyone. I will meet you guys in Denair at about 0645. The route will be his favorite Tim Bell loop
I’m posting for Gerry because his internet service is out.
